The time is sure drawing near-
er and nearer to reunion time.
So all you guys better start get-
ting ready to join the rest of the
Hellcats at Myrtle Beach. The
latest to be joining us are good
ole Bob Lepley, Fred and Ev
Erichsen, Bob Saehloff and a
new-comer Jack Zapf. So let's
get on the band wagon and start
heading south.
Ev and Fred Erichsen were
visiting their daughter Kathy in
Pittsburgh and took time to pay
a visit to Elmo and Sara Kostal.
These guys are way ahead of us,
there already talkng about the
European trip.
To all of Lou DeMauro's
friends, Lou is a very sick boy
and has reentered the hospital
again. Again I ask you guys to
drop Lou a card or a letter to
cheer him up. Lee hasn't said
too much in her letters. She is
a busy woman, working, taking
care of four kids and giving Lou
all the help that's possible.
Deepest sympathies to the
family and friends of Lou Tan-
ner "C", it was the first we have
known of his passing away when
we read about it in the Hellcat
News.
At the reunion, you can bet
that Friday July 24th will be a
big night. It'll be Country Hoe
Down Night and all eyes will be
on Art and Leona Worth, there
great and will give anyone a
run for there money. For you

guys who have never tried it,
you have a treat in store for
you. In fact is you get a chance
get a few basic lessons, it'll help
quite a bit. If not, we'll all strug-
gle together.
■I hate to get into this in,
this column but it burns my butt
when I read and hear of things
that are going on this day in
this great and wonderful coun-
try of ours. To allow this viol-
ence and distinction to go on is
a shame and I personally can't
believe that it's to end the war
in Veit Nam. Much of it is to
undermine and destroy this coun-
try. My apologies to the ones
that are sincere and protest
peacefully in hopes to end the
war. But when you get a letter
like I did from Norm Clark "B"
and read of the injuries his son
has suffered it brings tears to
your eyes. Marine Lance Cpl.
William Clark suffered serious
injuries, he lost his right eye,
part of his right upper lip, bridge
of his nose, 20 teeth and com-
pound fractures of his jaw and
fragmentation wounds to chest,
stomach and legs. He was on
the critical list for one week and
the Clarks' are so very grateful
that he's alive. Are we that div-
ided that we can't even support
our kids overseas. We're all a-
gainst the wars, but as long as
one G.I. is overseas we have to
give him all the material and
moral support we possibly can.
I think it's high time, in fact
long overdue to start expressing
our concern of what is going on
in this country and contact your
representatives, locally and the
ones in Washington. Tins just
isn't for the So called Silent Maj-
ority, this applies to every Amer-

in his letter he mentioned having
spent a very enjoyable evening
with Morris Schneider. Morris
was in Chicago for a narcotic
convention, and it was good that
he and Ed could spend some
time together. Ed is quite sure
that someday in the furture we
shall be addressing Morris as
"Judge Schneider."
William Schuch, "Couldn't
make the Mid-West Chapter do-
ings this year. Our son George
had a science fair for 8th grad-
ers that Lorraine and I couldn't
miss."
John A. Leach, "My wife and
I are looking forward to the trip
to Europe and would like to hear
from any of A Troop that are
planning on the tour. I've been
off work these past three months
due to eye surgery and doing
fine."
Richard Bucy: "Our going to
Europe fund has reached the
$400.00 mark, thanks to Betty
cutting off my beer allowance.
My cigar allowance is going to
pay for the 24th reunion in Myr-
tle Beach."
Everything is fine on the Dre-
her home-front and how it is the
same with all of you. See you
all in Myrtle Beach.

By tho time this message is
printed, Kay and I will be back
in Michigan after spending the
cold, snowy northern winter in
Tampa, Florida. We aire both
looking forward to seeing all of
you, once again, at Myrtle
Beach.
Received the following from
William Lafkowitz: "Say Hello
to all the boys. Sorry to say,
I have not received my March
1970 Hellcat News. (Maybe the
Postal strike had something to
do with it). I worried about
'Poor' old Brovic during that big
Chicago snow storm. While visit-
ing my brother in St. Elizabeth's
Hospital, Elizabeth, New Jersey,
ran into a buddy of mine from
the 66th A.I.B., Ted Bernstein.
A card to Ted will be nice. Is
Len Dooley still 'selling' News-
papers? My best to you and the
gang"
We heard from Ed Brovic and
ican.
Guess that's it for now and I
do hope we get to see a lot of
our friends at there union, this
coming July. See you there.

Many young couples today just
go ahead and marry . . . expect-
ing their Folks to be good sup-
ports about it.
EUROPE —1971
By now you have all read the schedule for "Europe -
1971" and I hope most of you are happy with what you read.
When I look at all those HELLCATS who signed as
interested at the Cleveland Reunion in 1969 plus the many,
many letters since the reunion, I feel very elated. If you
are planning to go with us it is important we receive your
$50.00 deposit (It will be returned if you can't make the
trip). We are hoping to use the new Boeing 747 so lets fill
it up with HELLCATS.
We are attempting to have our tour guide at Myrtle
Beach to answer any and all questions. See you there.
