preaches sermons without words, and so shows forth the glory of

Rural Communities
Qf Texas To Observe
CROP Sunday, Nov. 18 -
t
Rural communities in Texas
will have an Opportunity to
share their blessings with those
in need on Sunday, Nov. 18.
The day has been named
CROP SUNDAY by the Texas
CROP Committee as a supple-
ment to the Halloween youth
project and general commodity
canvasses in 30 Texas counties.
On this Sunday before Thanks-
giving, laymen will meet in
their respective churches, then
meet together for a luncheon
prepared by women’s church
groups, receive instructions and
materials, then spend an, hour
to an hour and a half in sys-
tematic canvass of the sur-
rounding rural community.
Farr sers will' be asked to share
thei -harvests with a contribu-
tion tq CROP (Christian Rural
Overseas Program) which ids-
tributes surplus food overseas
and collects or purchases food
and fiber not available from
surplus stocks. Canvassers will
return to a central meeting
place for an acounting and a
dedication of fuds received. k
CROP is the food and fiber
program of Church Worl Serv-
Ice, the relief agency in which
35 Protestant denominations par-
ticipate.
Communities wishing addi-
tional information concerning
CROP SUNDAY are urged to con-
tact the Texas CROP office at

NAVABOTA 1EXAMINER REVIEW
Thuvaday. November L 1986 Navanota, Tasas - |
We are not called to criticize or condemn i__ ___________
said, “Go ye Into all the world, and preach the gospel.” How-
ever, preaching is not confined to words only? but to living the
gospel so that others will see our good works and glorify our
Father in heaven. 11
This demands a faithful turning to God in prayer, and hold-
ing fast to those high standards of character revealed to us in
the Sermon on the Mount. Only so will the light of Christ shine
forth through us. fa...... • ' —
