Mrs. V. J. Duncan has been
named secretary of the Graham
Chamber of Commerce office
effective April 1 according to
an announcement by John Kil-
lough, Chamber Manager.
Mrs. Duncan was formerly
associated with the Retail Mer-
chants Association and with the
Duncan Real Estate Company.
The former secretary, Mrs.
Jerry Phillips, resigned last
month following the announce-
ment for her husband’s trans-
fer to Poteau, Oklahoma where
he will serve as District Scout
Executive.

Two-Car Crash
City officers reported a two-
car accident occurred 2:15p.m.
Friday at the intersection of
Cherry and First Streets. in-
volved in the accident were Mrs.

Revival Services will begin at

on Easter Sunday, April 10th,

Texas, will be the Evangelist,
with Robert E. Smith, of Gra-
ham, leading the song service,
and Mrs. Elsie Ratcliffe at the
piano.
Week-day services will be at
10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Prayer
service and Choir rehearsal
will be at 7:00 p.m.
Rev. Regeon is pastor of the
Calvary Baptist church, in Sey-
mour, Texas. He is a native of
Abilene, Texas, and has a B.S.
degree from Hardin-Simmons
University.

Seventy interviews were con-
ducted today, Monday, by rep-
resentatives of Mr. Fine, a
division of Fame Fashions, Inc.
for the local garment factory
which is scheduled to begin pro-
duction next Monday, March 11.

Hamlin, secretary and produc-
tion manager.
Experienced persons inter-
ested in local employment are
requested to come by the cham-
ber of Commerce office and
pick up applications. The com-
pany will be employing more
experienced personnel as .the
production line expands. "We
want all these experience Gra-
ham people to have the oppor-
tunity of working in Graham,"
said Beach.
Company officials said there
would be 35 employed by next
weekend manufacturing ladies
dresses.
It was learned, in most cas-
es, workers could make more
than the minimum wages, and it
is possible to make as much as
$1.65 per hour when the line is
operating and the workers are
efficient in their jobs.

Funeral Rites
Held Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs.
Effie Simpson, 76, who died
Saturday in the Graham Gener-
al Hospital, were conducted 2
p.m. today, Monday from the
Morrison Funeral Home Cha-
pel.
Rev. Verne Fuqua, pastor of
Salem Methodist Church, and
Rev. Hubert Foust, pastor of
First Baptist Church, officiat-
ed. Burial was in the Pioneer
Cemetery with funeral arrange-
ments under the direction of
Morrison Funeral Home.
Mrs. Simpson was born June
3, 1889 in Cummings, Georgia.
She had resided in Wichita Falls
for the past 20 years, and was
a member of the First Baptist
Church.
Survivors include two sons,
Jim Phillips of Graham, and
Bill Phillips of Abilene; seven
nieces and nephews; three step-
grandchildren, Richard Allen
and Connie Allen, both of Gra-
ham, and Linda Joyner of Bee-
ville, Texas.
A Sunday School Class of the
Wichita Falls First Baptist
Church awarded a Bible to Mrs.
Simpson two weeks ago tor
completely reading the Holy
Bible.
Pallbearers were Jack Har-
ney, Frank Pitts, Don Casey,
Johnnie Vanhooser, Raymond
Burkett, and Richard Allen.

heard enthusiastic reports from Tom

Inc. after interviewing over 70 appli-
cants today in the C-C office. Left to

Funeral Rites
Set Tuesday
Mrs. Issac Le Grand (Hobb)
Still, 66, well known Ellasville
farmer and rancher, died Sat-
urday following an attack which
resulted in an automobile acci-
dent 15 miles northeast of Abi-
lene.
Funeral services for Mr. still
will be conducted 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday from the Ellasville
Church of Christ with Jimmy
Jividen, minister of the Broad-
way Church of Christ, Wichita
Falls, and Steve Molnar, offi-
ciating. Burial will be in the
Ellasville Cemetery with Fu-
neral arrangements under the
direction of Morrison Funeral
Home.
Born March 13,1900, in Orth,
Texas, he was a member of the
Ellasville Church of Christ.
He married Willie Gertrude
Pratt in 1920 at Ellasville.
Mrs. Still preceded her hus-
band in death July 9, 1963.
Survivors include four
daughters, Mrs. Gill Parker of
Breckenridge, Mrs. Woodrow
W. Wade of Merkel, Mrs. W.B.
Leiter of Throckmorton, and
Mrs. Ray Gee of Arlington;
three sisters, Mrs. Otis Cooney
of Fort Worth, Mrs. Edgar
Haynie and Mrs. John Blancett,
both of Wichita Falls, seven
grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Larry Peve-
ler, William Wade, Danny Wade,
Joe Lester, Tont Gee, and Ron-
nie Brassier.
Mrs. Lucille Burkett and
Lawrence Barnhill, incumbents
on the Board of Trustees of the
Graham Independent School

Loving, were conducted 2:30
p.m. Sunday, April 3, from the
Loving Methodist Church. Rev.
Harold Barnett, pastor, offi-
ciated for the funeral rites, and
burial was in Hawkins Chapel,
near Loving, with funeral ar-
rangements under the direction
of Morrison Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harmon died April 1 in
the Graham General Hospital
following an illness.
Born March 28, 1878 in Col-
lin County, she was the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hawk-
ins. Mrs. Harmon moved to
Loving in 1947 from Acme, Tex-
as. She was a long time member
of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her hus-
band, two daughters, Mrs. G.
W. Reece of Morgan, .Texas,
and Mrs. Nadine Bower of Mun-
ford, Ala.; a son, Benton Mc-
Spadden of San Antonio, two-
stepdaughters, Mrs. Eula Por-
ter of El Paso, and Mrs. Lou
Lavy of Abilene; two step-sons,
C. F. Harmon of Loving, and
Gene Harmon of Graham, 3
grandchildren; and 3 great
grandchildren.

Rice, Lindsey Hawkins, Nor-
man Jones, Sherman Bussey,
Joe Garvey, and Troy Lee She-

Held in Olney
Mr. Scrap Carter, 73, died
in an Olney hospital Wednes-
day. Funeral services for Mr.
Carter were conducted 10 a.m.

Born April 27, 1892 in Brown
County, he had lived in the Olney
area since 1909.
Survivors include his widow;
a daughter, Mrs: Donald Duncan
of Wichita Falls; two sons, J.B.
of Irving and Lt. Col. W. W.
of Mineral Wells, a brother,
Jack of Olney; a sister, Mrs.
Ella Clayton of Jacksboro; a
half-sister, Mrs. Pauline
Parker of Graham; his step-
mother, Mrs. Ida Carpenter
of Graham, a stepsister, Mrs,
Marie Osborne of Graham; and
four grandchildren.
