Mr. Driver hat lived in Gra-
ham the past 86 years and has
watched the city grow from a
small town to a "big town”. He
came here from Parker County «t
the age of one, and attended
school in a little log cabin in the
Hunger Community during the
early days of Graham and Young
County.
For many years he owned and
ooperated the Driver Hotel that
still tarries his name. Since re-
tiring Mr. Driver spends mF.ost of
his time reading the Bible and

mitted to Harris Hospital in Fort
Worth, on July 14, mid later un-
derwent major surgery, returned
to her home in Graham last Wed-
nesday.
She is reported to be improv-

Farm Bureau Queen Committee
will host a coke party and re-
hearsal at the Newcastle High
School at 8 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 15
for the Queen Contestants and
their mothers.

Former Resident
Dies In Virginia
Mrs. Trudie Turner of Falls
Church, Virginia, died Sunday,
July 30. after suffering a heart
attack. She is survived by her
mother, one brother, and four
sisters of Marquette, Michigan,
and her husband. Marine Capt.
(retired) Lepn Turner, and sons,
Doyle. Jimmy, and David, of
Fails Church.
Mrs. Turner was well known in
Graham, having resided here a
short time. Mr. Turner is a cousin
of Mrs. Don Blythe.

Teenagers f
Face Charges
Commissioners Court met Tues-
day August 1, in the Young Coun-
ty Court house and heard a letter
from Austin, telling them the la-
teral road fund of the County will
receive $24,043.88 in credit.
The letter came from the dir-
ector of County and Court Road
Indebetedness. stating that sub-
ject to legislative appropriations
on September 1, the Young Coun-
ty lateral road account will be
credited with the amount, Young
County’s share of the road sur-
plus.
The money will be used for the
construction or improvements of
county lateral roads.
The Commissioners reed the di-
vision of certain funds from the
Road and Bridge Genral Fund,
and divided the fund to the op-
perating accounts of the various
preceincts in Young County.
The sum, $40,000 00, was divided
between the four precincts: Pre-
cinct One. (Graham) $11,000.00;
Precinct Two (Eliasvilie) $6,000;
Precinct Three (Oiney) $10,800

ing two juveniles, were charged
with disturbing the peace Monday
night after a resident on Texas
Street made a complaint and pre-
ferred charges.
A windshield of a car owned
by one of the youths was broken
in the melee. Three pleaded
guilty to charges and two were
fined $10 each. The third youth
was fined $50 and placed in coun-
ty jail in lieu of payment of fine.
Two other youths entered pleas
of not guilty and posted $200 bond
each awaiting trial.
