Incumbent Joe Cannon defeated op-
ponent Jess Weise, 854-482. Cannon
was appointed to the office by Com-
missioners’ Court after the resignation
of former Constable Belton Hill. Can-
non has no Republican party opposi-
tion in the November election.
,n Pet. 2 Constable
Cecil Powers overwhelmed Carlton
Rowers, 1,051 to 197, in the Precinct 2
‘ Constable’s race. Powers, the office in-
cumbent, will face no opposing party
' opponent in the general elections.
Other County Results
In other voting in Bosque County’s
Democratic Primary, about 80 percent
*' of the voters supported President Bill
• Clinton over the other six candidates.
■ I County Democratic voters supported
John Bryant in the U.S. Senator's race,
" Bob Perkins in the Court of Criminal
Appeals, Place 1, and Gary Taylor in
