the Melon gin and will make that

J. M. Henson holds the "blue
ribbon" from this office for the
largest vadish sent in. It was of
the black Spanish variety and
weighed three and a half pounds
and a part of it was left in the
ground. It was raised without
irrigation.
Mr and Mrs. Houston of Colors
do City will spend some time
with their nephew, W. A. Thomp
son. Messrs Houston, Thomp-
son and Rev. Buck spent a few
days last week hunting.

The prettiest and most elabor
ate wedding of the season was
the marriage of Miss Nora D.
Edwards to Mr. Winfred Bush

arrived was filled with friends
and relatives of the contracting
parties. The anouncement of
the arrival of the happy party
was given by Miss Ola Edwards,
the bride’s sister, who sang "O
Perfect Love". Mrs. Myrtle
Rowe presided at the organ and
rendered the march. The ushers,
Mr. Jefferson Edwards and Mr.
Maxey Wier of SanAntonio,came
first, followed on the right by*
the bridesmaids, Miss Joda
Edwards and Miss Ruth Bush,
and on the left by the grooms
men, Mr. Ellis Bush of Lytle and
Mr. Neal Brown of San Antonio.
The bride came up the north
aisle on the arm of her father,
the groom came down the south
aisle with the officiating minis-
ter. They formed a half circle
under a large wedding bell in
front of the altar, where Rev. W.
L. Dubose of Devine, in an im-
pressive ceremony declared them
husband and wife. The bridal
robe was a lovely white of suzane
silk with veil and wreath of
orange blossoms. The brides
maids wore pink silk over white
and the groom andhis attendants
wore the customary black. An
informal reception was given at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. L P.
Brown, near the church, The
groom is a prominent young busi
ness man of Lytle, while the bride
is the accomplished daughter of
Rev. and Mrs. 8. T. Edwards of
this place, and for the past th ree
years primary teacher in the
public school here. The young
people have a host of friends and
are quite popular in Lytle and
Atascosa circles. —
