Dallas, iexas, Nov. 6.—Retention
of the Southwest regional crop
prdouction loan office in Dallas
until i completes liquidation of its
loans was assured Saturday
through Congressman Hatton W.
Sumners of Dallas, and J. Ben
Critz, vice president and general
manager of the Dallas Chamber
of Commerce.
Notification from Washington
came after the .general understand-
ing that the crop loan office here
would be moved to Houston where
the production Credit Corporation
has been established under the
new agricultural loan set-up. The
Dallas office, which employs about
100 workers with a monthly pay-
roll of about $12,000 will be re-
tained in Dallas until all of its
affairs are liquidated, Mr. Critz
said.
Whether the Dallas office will
continue to make new loans will
be decided later, in the light of
the next congress action, he ex-
plained. The present organization
ends it loan-making life Jan. 1
has collected more than $2,000,000
due on 1933 loans within the last
three weeks. The total of 1933
loan collections is $3,094,661, or
60 per cent of the loans made, it
was reported. In addition, the of-
fice has this year handled $1,545,-
498.29 of collateralized cotton, ap-
plied largely on 1932 loan balances.
This represented 51,193 bales and
15,735 separate borrowers. The
Dallas office made more than $6,-
000.000 of loans this year to 71,-
496 borrowers.

"Relief for strained budgets” best' describes
the price advantages which we’re offering this
month on many of the new 1933 Brilliantfire
Gas Heaters. Already scores of thrifty home
makers have provided themselves with a clean
odorless, instant heat to enjoy this winter. Bet-
ter hurry in for your’s while selections are still
satisfyingly large. You’ll find most any type
leater—colorful logs—radiant-type heaters—
grates filled with glowing coals (simulated)—
all at savings not likely to be equalled later.
