Somerset County Historical Society

Established in 1965, the Somerset County Historical Society was created with a generous gift from Helen Watts Roberts. In 1996, the Society, in cooperation with Olde Princess Anne Days, supported the formation of Friends of Teackle Mansion, Inc., to raise money to restore Teackle Mansion. In 2000, the Boards of Directors for the Society and for Olde Princess Anne Days, Inc. merged. The Somerset County Historical Society carved out an ambitious mission for its volunteer Board of Trustees and members, documenting and interpreting the past for residents and visitors, both young and old. The Society holds monthly meetings, supports restoration & preservation work, acquires objects of historical significance, investigates local and regional history, and organizes events and programs designed to share Somerset County history and culture.
