Voices of the Eastern Shore
The Voices of the Eastern Shore collection features archival materials such as letters, accounting ledgers and legal documents from the Somerset County Historical Society and the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library at the University of Virginia that focus on life on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia from 1796 to about 1837.
The materials center on Elizabeth Upshur Teackle and her merchant husband, Littleton Dennis Teackle of Princess Anne, Maryland, and their extended network of family, business associates, and friends.
