Special Collections Department Oral Histories

Audio recordings of oral histories conducted by UNT Libraries Special Collections Department with library staff, donors, and artists.

About the Collection

This collection began as a vehicle for documenting UNT Library's inclusion into the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), a decades-long goal of top university and library administration. Recording for this project began on March 29, 2023 at the ARL Celebration at Willis Library and concluded on October 25, 2023. As this project developed, other avenues opened, and UNT Special Collections personnel began collecting the stories of donors to the archive, while also working with faculty from the College of Visual Arts and Design Photography program to interview photographers represented in the department's photography archives. The Special Collections Department Oral Histories collection will continue to be added to; as so, the topics and content will broaden and develop with it.
