The Texas State Library and Archives Commission's (TSLAC) collections include original print and microfilmed newspapers. More information about newspaper research at TSLAC, along with detailed listings of holdings, is available online.

TSLAC newspaper holdings provide information about events and opinions that shaped Texas over time, from locations across the state, and from a variety of viewpoints. Titles such as The Harrison Flag and Neu-Braunfelser Zeitung document Texas before, during, and just after the Civil War. Home and State, published in Dallas, promotes the temperance movement from the early 1900s to the first years of Prohibition, which began in January 1920. The Alpine Avalanche and the Amarillo Daily News document activities in the Big Bend and Panhandle regions respectively.
