About Donald E. Chipman

Donald E. Chipman received bachelor's and master's degrees from Fort Hays Kansas State College, and a Ph.D from the University of New Mexico. He taught history at UNT from 1965 to the 2000-2001 school year, and, after retiring, he was granted emeritus status. His research interests include Spanish Texas and professional football.

About the Physical Collection

Papers in the collection document work on The Dallas Cowboys and the NFL, a book Dr. Chipman wrote with Dr. Randolph Campbell and Dr. Robert Calvert. Included are drafts, notes, articles, brochures, clippings, correspondence, galley sheets, interviews, and statistics.

The collection also contains papers that document Dr. Chipman's research on Spanish Texas. The material consists of microfilm and prints from microfilm of Spanish records dating from the 1530s.
