The Dallas Metroplex Chapter of the Names Project Foundation Collection
About the NAMES Project
The NAMES Project Foundation is a national organization that recognizes lives lost and families affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic through creation and display of quilt panels, known as the AIDS Memorial Quilt. Now containing thousands of panels, the quilt has been displayed around the country--serving as a remembrance and raising millions of dollars for AIDS service organizations throughout North America.
The Dallas Metroplex Chapter of the NAMES Project Foundation was chartered in September 1991. Along with its sister chapter in Fort Worth, it focused on addressing the needs of the service area, fundraising for support of HIV/AIDS educational outreach, holding panel making events, and adhering to the mission of the NAMES Project Foundation. The Dallas chapter disbanded in 2003.

About the Physical Collection
UNT Special Collections holds the Dallas Metroplex Chapter of the Names Project Foundation records for 1988-2003.
