Dr. Schawb is a scion of an old 1 L
j and highly respected family of the
county and as a physician > lias
i already gained enviable prorgi-
nence, notwithstanding his youth-!
ful years. A graduate of some of.
the best medical colleges of this
country, he has also studied under | \
several professors of the most cele-
brated schools of Europe. His
keen intellect, studious habits and
native* modesty admirably adapt I
him to the duties of his chosen
profession.. As a man and a
citizen Dr. Schawb is uuiversaly
held 411 the highest esteem by an
immense circle of acquaintances.
Any encomium which the News
might pronounce upon the charac-
ter of the bride would pale into
insignificance compared to the
i feeling of high regard and respect
I in which she is held by all who
know* her. Endowed by nature
w’ith all the physical charms es-
I sential to the make-up of a perfect
| woman, she has not neglected
those arts of culture which tend to
polish and refine the mind. The
prestige of the Eckhardt name has
fallen upon one, in the person of
the bride, who is in every way
fitted to wear its diguity and
honor with an unassuming grace
and gentleness- which adds new
luster to the splendor that name
.has achieved during the half cen-
tury it has headed the list in all
great and good w’orks in this com-
munity. Xor is her maternal an-
cestry less noble and honored.
One of her mother’s brothers rep
resents this district in the United
States congress, another is one of
the foremost jurists of the state
and the thirdis the leading stock-
man of Texas.
After a brief bridal trip Dr. and
Mrs. Schaw’b will begin <house-
keeping in the cozy home on Xorth
Gonzales street which the doctor
recently bought.
The News joins their friends in
wishing them all the • happiness
and prosperity which their brignt
wedding day presages.—Yorktown
