Rolls Soys Young
County H.D. Agent
Meat homemakers, at different
time*, have wi.hed for an eaten
supply of bread or roll* to takn
care ot unexpected guests and to
cut down on the baking chores
The home freeser ha* made that
poeaible, any* Mtaa Luciie King,
county H. D. agent.
Bread and rolla may be Troxen
baked or unbaked, ahe says and
if the proper methods ot packing,
freeing and storage are followod,
baked rolls wilt be Just as light
and tender after freezing as be-
fore. But if unbaked rolls are put
into the freezer, the results can-
not always be predicted, she adds.
Unbaked dough seems to lose some
of it* ability to rise after being
thawed and the texture of the
rolls may become tough and the
volume lessened.
Miss King says for the frozen
baked rolls and bread, use a fav-
orite plain or sweet double recipe
und make in the usual manner.
After baking, remove from the
pans and cool to room tempera-
ture. Then wrap in moisture proof
paper or package in frozen food
containers. -*
Reheating frozen baked rolls in
their* sealed wrappings in a 250
degree F. to 300 degree F oven
for IB miiiutee will get th'.-m ready
for serving, says Mias King.
If the container is such that 'it
cannot be placed in the oven, then
remove the rolls and place them in

TIMELY TIPS
Here’s a tip from County Home
Demonstration Agent Luciie King
that homemakers who Use the
broiler on the kitchen range may
tfind helpful.
She. says if you’ll place alumi-
num foil or parchment on the bot-
tom of the broiler befoie it is
used, you can save time a*d effort
on the cleaning job. After the
broiling is done, just remove the
foil or parchment and a big part
of the cleaning job is over with.
If you don't use these materials,
then ahe suggests soaking the
broiler pah in hot water as soon as
you finish with it. It will bs easier
to clean whenyoiTre ready to wash
it
We need toaast fire protection to
prevent destruction of food and
cover for game birds and mam-
mals, to prevent soil eroaon, and
to regulate stream flow..
