moval of the ball park equipment
from the old fair park grounds to

new Graford highway. Ten acres
have been leased for a ten year
period for the ball park and the
grandstands, lights, and other
equipment will be moved as quick-
ly as possible.
Geo. Fore announced yesterday
that the ground is being leveled
and that they expect to complete
work on the transfer within th?
next ten days. The new location
was decided upon last Summer,
however, they were unable to com-
plete the change to the new loca-
tion until this year.

spoke before members of tho Lions
Club Wednesday noon on state

ited the Graford side of Possum
Kingdom Lake Tueedsy to wel-
come reaMents and camp owners
to Graham with the opening of
the new Graham-Graford high-
way which is expected to be com-
pleted soon.
The caravan left Memorial audi-
torium 0:30 a. m. Tuesday and
traveled over the new road and
were met by J. A. McDonald, own-
er of the McDonald Boat Wbrks,
Graford, who accompanied the
group on the remainder ofJthe
toar.
Grahamites arrived at Willow
Beach Camp shortly before noon
and traveled by boat to Coatello
Island for a brief visit. Later in
the afternoon, Graham boosters
visited other camps on the south
side of the lake and the Boy Scout
and YMCA camp located on John-
son Bend.
Graham visitors received a cor-
dial welcome from the camp own-
ers in this area. They were en-
thusiastic over the opening of the
• new road between Graham and
Graford which will enablo residents
| in that vicinity to come to Gra-
ham over s short paved route.
Letters of welcome were left at
each camp during the all-day
itinerary.

Stag Party At Lake
Annual stag party for the Gra-
ham Lions club was announced
Wednesday noon during the meet-
ing by Guy Meacham, club presi-
dent. The party will be held at
John T. Nunnelee’s lodge on Pos-
sum Kingdom lake July 12.
Meacham named the following
members on an arrangements
committee for the barbecue: Ed
Fleming, E. R. Marchman, Buell
Orr, Jim Parks, and Gordon Nees.
Tickets for the steg affair will be

rancher, will ship approximately
nine hundred head of steers to
Emporia, Kansas, next week. He
will begin loading the steers Mon-
day from his ranches in Young
and Throckmorton counties.
Each year Mr. Young ships part
of his herd to Kansas for fatten-
ing on Kansas blue-stem grass.

court during the past weak. Judge
G1 T>. Hibson announced that both

Farm Tour Of
County Scheduled
Thursday, May 18
Annual Farm Field Tour of
Young County has been set for
May 18, R. O. Dunkle, county
agent, announced today. The farm
tour will include visits to farms
throughout Young county where
the group will study soils, < rosion,
new field seeds, range improve-
ments, mesquite eradication, 4-H
achievements, pork production,
dairy herd management, cbemica!
control of mcsqnite, winter and
summer legume crops, and ter-
racing.
Persons interested in making the
tour will meet at the old fair park
buildings 9 a. m. May 18. The
group will return to the pump sta-
tion park in Graham dnring the
'noon hour for lunch.
Agencies cooperating for the
tour include the Extension Serv-
ice, P.M.A., Farmers Home Admin-
istration, and the Soil Conserva-
tion Service.
The tour was postponed last year
due io heavy rains.

Thursday evening, May 4 at 7 p. m.
at a Farm Bureau meeting and
barbecue supper. Sen. Moffett will
select his subject.
Loys D. Barbour, district di-
rector, Texas Farm Bureau Fed-
eration of Iowa Park, Texas, also
one of the epeskers on the pro-
gram, will speak on the Soil Con-
servation and Nutrition farm pro-
gram, which is now being studied
by the Board of Directors of the
American Farm Bureau Federa-
tion and the Congress of the Uni-
ted States.
This program was introduced by
J. Walter Hammond, president
Texas Farm Bureau and approved
by the members at the I art state
convention in Dallas, it is also ap-
proved by th* National Livestock
Producers.
There will also be ft discussion
on Farm Bureau Services by Mau-
rice T. Howell, of Abilene, field
representative of Farm Bureau
Insurance Companies.

County Farm Burqau, said, that
all ranchers, firmer* and their
families are invited and there
would be plenty of barbecue (cook-
ed on th* new barbecue pit recent-
ly erected by the local ergania-
tion) ranch style beans, and cof-
fee, with the ladiea furnishing the
