of $4,766 set for the County, ac-
cording to an announcement by
Kelly Jones, fund raising chair-
man, this
Graham's quota is $2,086; Olncy,
$1360; and Newcastle, $350. The
Business and Professional W«
en‘s Club at Olney will sponsor the
drive in that city, and Mrs. Gas-
pant Neal will serve as chairman
for Newcastle. Other chairmen for
Graham and other towns and com-
munities in the County will be an-
nounced next week, Hugh Grubbs,
county fund raising
A special bill introduced in the
Legislature last week to provide
a temporary stop gap to take care
of the present deficit in the oper-
ation of the Graham Public School
District was approved by Gover-
nor Allan Shivers and passed both
Houses. The bill is' on the Gover-
nor’s desk this week waiting for
his signature te become law. I

the 45th anniversary of Rotary
test Friday with a huge birthday
cake with 45 candles placed at the
head table. Clay Thompson gave
a timely discussion on Rotary, giv-
ing the history and scope of Ro-
tary. He discussed Rotary objec-
tives and accomplishments, and
told of the Paul Harris Rotary
Foundation Fellowships, the Ro-
tary Relief program. Rotary’s par-
ticipation in the U.N. and the
Rotary International conventions.
