Special Called Session.
I. T. M. Campell, governor of
the State of Texas, by virtue of
authority vested in me by the con-
stitution, do hereby call a special
session of the Thirtieth legisla-
ture to convene in the city of
Austin beginning at ten minutes
after 1 o’clock p. m., April, 12,
1907, for the following purposes
to-wit:
1. To enact adequate laws
simplifying the procedure in both
civil and criminal trials in the
courts of this state and for such
reforms as may be practicable in
our jury system.
2. To enact adequate laws
concapclling telephone «and tele-
graph companies to transmit each
others messages and make neces-
sary connections for that purpose
at common points.
3. To enact adequate laws to
secure equality and uniformity in
taxation and to secure the'just
rendition of all taxable property
at its full value and to compel
payment of such taxes properly
assessed against it and to enact
such laws as will secure the taxa-
tion of all property, tangible and
intangible, including the fran-
chises or intangible assets or
property of those corporations
which by reason ot. nature or
character of their assets or prop-
erty, under the present Maws es-
cape their just proportions of
taxation.
4. To enact laws to increase
charter and filing fees of, do-
mestic and foreign corporations
doing business in Texas.'
5. To enact laws increasing
the franchise taxes of foreign and
domestic corporations doing busi-
ness in Texas.
6 To enact laws imposing pro-
per taxes upon the gross receipts
of corporations and enterprises
now doing buiness in Texas,
which,under the present system
taxation, are not contributiug
their full share of taxes.
7 To consider and act upon,
such other matters as may here-
after by presented pursuant to
section 40* article d, of the consti-
tution of the state of Texas.

hereuunto set my hand and caused
the seal of the state to be affixed
