train was late in starting and
consequently did not arrive in
Seymour until about. 1 o’clock,
but there was plenty to eat when
we. got there and the people of
that town did everything to
make the day pleasant for the
visitors. The crowd, which was
estimated %t. between ft,000 and
10,000 people, was very orderly
and seemed to be enjoying the
day to its fullest extent. There
were a number of good'brass
bands on the grounds, discours
inggood music throughout the
day, and Bon. O. B. Colquitt,
Ho^ H. Bascom Thomas, Hon.
Jno. WrTCSTe and other promt
nent speakers addressed the
people.

In all, the barbecue was about
the grandest success of any we
