J. W. Akin to help
klo fourteenth lilrthday. *
Some two dozen invitation*
previously sent, nearly all ot
which had been accepted, so that '
five tables kept lively with pro-
gressive games of dominoes, forty-
two. flags, and rook. After this
there was an Interesting flower con-
test in which Lovells Ed diem an and
Jim Porter won the box of delicious
home-made candy.
Refreshments of meat sandwiches
and hot chocolate float were served
by Mrs. Akin assisted by her pretty
niece', llias Eula Kaye. , , '
The birthday cake w«a cut by all
the guests and thereby their fates
were determined.
It was late when good-byes were
said by the following happy party:'
Beulah BeU, Lovells Eddieman,
Katherine Craig, Verda Martin. Mau
fine * Griffis, Leah Stewart, Ruth
Doty, Ruby Andrews, Beulah Allen,
J<kn Porter, R. P. Short, Herachel
Eddieman, Hardy Price, Richard and
Nat Pride, Emory Ragsdale, J. C.
Rickman, Marion Copeland, Bryan
Hell and Jim Logan.
Rome of these had found out* that .
It was J. W.'e birthday, so many
little tokens were left, all dear to
a young boy's heart, to wish him
Joy, and “many happy return*.”

We are very thankful for the success we have ♦
had in our sale that is , now on. Tlie success is +
caused by giving such extraordinary low prices on
everything. We have heard so many say; they +
wer.e surprised to see goods selling at such extreme- +
ly low prices and availed themselves of the oppor- *
.tunity of purchasing their Fall supplies. - Now don’t +
think-the sale is over, for it has just begun, and it +
will be best for you to come in before all the best *
bargains are gone. Now don't get confused because +
somebody makes just a httle lower price on some +
little, article that doesn’t amount to anything, for we *
are herb to meet theia price and guarantee quality. +
and satisfaction. * *
