was very heavy. For twenty-three

continually, and when the last mur-
der trial was over my voice'had give
out and my throat was lqflamed so
1 was compelled to stop for awhile
and recuperate. With the consent
of our District Judge I went to-
Colorado for a few weeks. 1 , did
not remain there continuously but
came back to Wichikt Falls, twice
during March; aal on March the
19th represented the State In an
cx-unlni g trial in Judge Brother’s
court.
Judge Martin wrote me while. In
Colorado that the criminal docket in
Young and Archer counties was Ugl I
and he advised me to remain in
Colorado, that it would not pay
me very much to attend those
courts. I returned however to per-
form the duties of my office when
in electing and-keeping in this of-
fice an able And efficient prosecui-

and while no reflection is Intended
upon any other man who has here-
tofore held this office, by commend-
ing the work of Mr. Foster, it is
never safe to give up a gettd of-
ficer—a man who has proven him-
self to be a true and efficient ser-
vant of the people In order to trya
new man, which at most could only
be indulging in an experiment.
Therefoie the Times has not
the least hesitancy in indulging in
the hope that Mr.. Foster wl!l have
