of the A. W. L , *
baa?. Atgcalled meeting of
Commercial Club they decided to
furnish a site near the square
to that very little remains to toe
done to secure the house.
The A. W. L. has not achieved
its. wonderful work without op-
position, prejudice and unbelief
here or anywjjers else. That
was only to be expectedln put
ting forth syoh a new and revo-
lutionary idea. The fact that it
haa successfully stood the test of
this opposition and haa almost
entirely disarmed it ia the moat
convincing proof possible of the
soundness and greatness of the
plan. The League has now
reached a point where nothing
can atop ita progress. The unit-
ed efforts of a multitude, each
member doing her part. under
the simple well organized busi-
ness plan, have accomplished,
and will-continue eo, results that
wmr$.
are nothing short .of marvelous.
The concensus of opinion from
prominent business men of St.
Louis during the Natiohal Con-
vention which met January 10,
1010, is that the League la the
biggest thing of the age. Con
servative business men, compe
tent to judge'in this natter, es
limatethafc the income each
member of ttfe founders chapter
(which consists of the first one
hundred thousand members) will
recieve from the endowment fund
and various other sources, aside
from the frtr a A
ucational, social and artistic
culture the League provides,
many times the amount required
to complete a .membership in
the League. All those desiring
to avail themselves of this
extraordiharyopportonity should^

- What^Vhw;matter^ Thtnk -you |J "l"'
have received enough education
to carry you through the world?
Or do you stay out just because
you do not like to go? Didn’t
: like the teacher, eh? Well, let
me tell yon that you will find the
meanest teacher on earth now a
dream of love beside some of the
bosses you will work under in
the Cold and unfeeling years you
will plow into when you have to
tgst out and hustle for yourself.
Education is the most valuable
thing in the world to a man, bat
to a boy it comes the cheapest.
It costs you nothing now to get
--tliat for which many a man in
town would give all he has to
possess. You have the winning
number in the lottery of educa-
tion if you will play it now.
Lon around a few veara and you
wijl always bfiL Ott a blank.- It- is
true that any man can make a
living, but you will notice that
the lellows who do it with their
brains have an easier time of it J
than those who are compelled to |
do it with their muscles. At the
present stage of the game the
choice ^ jobs are not held by
physical strength. Education
wilt not crawl into your head
while you are asleep. The thing
for you to do ia to hike off to
school -tomorrow and stay there.
Your holidays will come later
when you need them.—Rocky
