Inside the Census
The U.S. Census Bureau
has released population data
collected in 2010.
A report on Page lA de-
tails some of the information
collected.
The city grew by almost
a third in the past decade,
the report found. There were
1,382 folks who moved to
town during that period. It
makes Joshua the third fast-
est growing municipality in
Johnson County, trailing
Burleson and Rio Vista.
Burleson’s growth rate
was 74.9 percent. Neighbor-
ing Keene grew by 22 per-
cent, narrowly edging out
Joshua as the county’s third-
largest city. Alvarado, Godley
and Grandview all grew by 15
percent. Cleburne, the coun-
ty’s seat, only grew by about
13 percent.
Adopt a pet
Numerous pets are avail-
able for adoption at the Joshua
Animal Shelter.
There are nine adult dogs,
two kittens and one adult cat.

at 817-774-9450 or visit the
