A fire engine ladder extends up towards the building from a fire engine just out of shot on the left, and smaller ladders are propped up against the building from the ground. Hoses lay on the ground in the street in front of the building, all leading towards the firefighters. Beyond the smoking building, in the background on the left, another building is partially visible. On the back of the photograph is a handwritten note identifying the printer and the date.
