Streams - DeBord to wed
Morgan Streams is pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of his par-
ents, Kristan Streams to Jacob DeBord, both of Edna. The bride-elect is the daughter of Randy
and Doris Streams of El Maton. She is a graduate of Tidehaven High School and Tarleton
University and is employed by Edna ISD. The prospective groom is the son of Beverly and
Joe Mack Witten burg of Edna and the late Jimmy DeBord. He graduated from Edna High School
and is employed by the U.S. Postal Service. The couple will exchange vows at 4:30 p.m. on May
12, 2012 at Brackenridge Park in Edna.

Alpha Delta Delta
Texas XI Alpha Delta Delta
met on March 19 at the home
of Estelle Granberry with 13
members present.
The currently serving offi-
cers, Lois Woodring, presi-
dent; Alice Figirova, vice
president; Mary Sheblak, sec-
retary; and Doris Andel, treas-
urer; were re-elected by accla-
mation to serve another year.
Business reports included
the fried chicken dinner and
the bus trip to Coushatta.
CCD students who helped
with the dinner were given
goodie bags for their efforts.
The group also discussed set-
ting a date to visit Lavaca
Bluffs Winery in LaSalle.
Sandra Hahn won the trav-
eling basket. Hahn and
Sheblak will bring baskets for
the April and May meetings.
The group approved donat-
ing $25 towards Masses in
memory of Annie Macha,
mother of Lois Woodring and
Doris Andel.
The next meeting will be
held at 6 p.m. on Monday,
April 30 at the home of Alice
Figirova. At that time they will
vote on Woman of the Year,
Pledge of the Year and
Program of the Year.

The Eleanor Brackenridge
Literary Club met March 21
in the home of Donna Roth
with Janet Marek sharing the
hostess duties. Eleven mem-
bers and two guests enjoyed
the program given by Roth on
organic farming.
Final reports from the
Trivia Night fundraiser were
given and the club thanked all

Mike and Kathy Labay of Ganado announce the engagement
and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shelby Labay to
Austin Pieprzyca, both of Edna, son of Randy Pieprzyca of
Karnes City and Kim and Sterling Hadley of Edna. The bride-
elect is a 2005 graduate of El Campo High School and is
employed as a secretary for BKB Oilfield Inc. The prospective
groom is a 2000 graduate of Karnes City High School ad is an
oilfield consultant for BKB Oilfield, Inc. The couple will
exchange vows at 3 p.m. on April 14, 2012 at St. Agnes
Catholic Church in Edna.

Martinez told of the time it
took to get permission to
have a Tejano Monument put
on the grounds of the State
Capital in Austin. After
working on the project for a
decade the unveiling of the
monument will take place
Thursday, March 29 in
Austin.

Christian Church Fellowship
Hall, 2105 N. Ben Jordan,
Victoria at 7 p.m. The pro-
gram will be presented by
Chuck Parsons with the topic
being “Texas Reconstruction
and the Sutton-Taylor Feud.”
