That ll 06t thei? attention... Fourth graders from five schools throughout Me-
dina County attended this year’s Alice Wiemers Ag in the Classroom event held on the
Medina County Fairgrounds. They were entranced by Kameron Bean of Wild Times En-
tertainment and her skunk (above), snake, armadillo, and opossum (inset). See additional

Teamwork... These boys seem to have the method down pat... one catches, the other
sacks up the wriggling piggie. It’s all in fun, and Sabinal Lions Club members ensure the ani-
mals are not harmed or over-stressed in their annual World Championship Wild Hog Catching
Contest, which is part of the annual Wild Hog Festival & Craft Fair. In its 22nd year, the family-
friendly celebration draws huge crowds over the two-day event in Sabinal and proceeds from the
festival fund various Lions projects throughout the year. Additional photos are on page 4A.

Making HANK kids Easter brighter.. Broadway Bank staff and family members prepared and donated Easter
baskets for HANK, Inc. to provide to children in the state’s child protective services custody. Helping Abused and Neglected
Kids (HANK, Inc.) is a Medina County 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to obtain items for children in CPS custody
when the state is unable to provide them and other sources have been consulted and cannot fill the need as well. The cheer-
ful buckets used contained traditional Easter goodies including coloring books, stuffed animals, plastic eggs and more.
