on a six weeks trip to visit rela-
tives in Iowa, making the trip by
car.
Edgar Bonorden has purchased
eight residence lots, oh Block 3,
Eastside addition, near the school
building, from C. F. Mjser of Ba-
zaar, Kansas.
Mrs. H. Y. Xen and son left Sat-
urday for Mason to visit Mrs. Neu'a
mother. Mrs. Otto Dunlop, for two
weeks. . .
Mrs. C. J. Tofnn and daughters,
Mrs. H. Striedel and H. P. ltamsel,
of St. Paul, were Sinton visitors
Wednesday afternoon.
The Mutctder boys, residing be-
tween h.-re and Taft, have bought
the 160 acre farm in the new Taft
subdivision belonging to B. B. Cas-
tle.
Mr. arid Mrs. H. B. MeClug en-
joyed an outing at Rockport last
week-end.
Boy Jackson left Wednesday to
join I)r. Preston Worley of San An-
tonio on'a trip to Alaska, where
they with others will hunt for big
game. The party will be gone about
six weeks.

The Veterans Administration has
announced it will extend compen-
sation paynjents to veterans who.
have been discharged from VA hos-
pitals with arrested pulmonary tu-
berculosis but who need more time
at home in which to recover suffi-
ciently to take a job without en-
dangering their health. —-
The new plan permits payments
to these veterans on a totally disk
abled basis up to two years from
date of discarge from any 3’A 'hos-
pital while they remain under close
medical supervision. Previously, the
payments were reduced by ,50 per-
cent within six months of the vet-
eran's discharge.
Under the new plan, these vet-
erans will he i xamlned every six

certify their findings so that VA
may determine whether to contin-

Almost 30 farmers, living in the vicin-
ity of Sinton signed up for the new and
improved telephone service the South-
western Bell Telephone Company plane
to furnish, according to G. C. Schneider,
manager of the telephone company.
Sohneider captained that personal in-
tarviews with farmara in tha araa are
being conducted by Jack Hood, John
Bula, George Roeelar and that in their

ber signed up for tha service.
