"You are not our Quality
But stand against us like an enemy"
These words from Shakespeare fully express our attitude
towards articles of merchandise that are of inferior quali-
ty. Truly, they "are not our Quality," and just as truly,
"they stand against us like an enemy. 4 It is the pur-
pose of this store to place nothing upon its shelves that
is not of First Quality. When, therefore, an article of
inferior merit is placed on the market, and is said to be
"just as good", it stands against our merchandise like
an enemy. Like one seeking to usurp a title to which he
has no just claim. 4 True, the purchaser can only be
deceived one time, but we do not like to have our cus-
tomers deceived even once. When merchandise is
honestly come by, in the great marts of the world, the
price it costs has much bearing on its real value. Mer-
chandise of real merit, Merchandise that is "Our Quali-
ty", may cost more money, it should cost more money,
because it is worth more, but in the long run its purchase
is an act of economy. 4 Your attention is called to the
fact that no untried, flimsy, unwarranted merchandise
finds place in this store. On this policy, a great house
has been builded. We are proud of the record, and it is
our purpose to continue as we started. 4 We solicit
your trade purely on a Quality basis. If you are seeking
the sort of goods that "stand against us like an enemy",
you will not find them here. If you seek Merchandise
that is "Our Quality",-which is First Quality, we wel-
come you.
