2005 Tulsa Reunion Update;
Registrations Underway
Registrations have begun with both your chairman and with the
hotel. And it seems that someone at the hotel registration phone did
not have it straight. I have had several reports that our people have
been told their room rate prior to the 14th would be very much
higher. This is not true. Our $55 + tax rate is valid for three
days prior and also for three days beyond our activity
schedule.
They do not promise complete access to the suite areas for those
days but will work with our Unit Reps who wish to get some jump
start on preparations. This hotel only has five suites and we will
have all of them from Sept. 14 through 18. Two have one bedroom,
three have two bedrooms. We also have two large multi-purpose
rooms for hospitality use. Obviously not every Representative will
sleep attached to their hospitality parlor. Yet there is an abundance
of spacious comfortable king and even double queen sleeping
rooms.
The hotel and I are planning for a banquet seating comfortably
400 people and we could easily go to twice that if necessary.
About the outside tours, we will have two dedicated buses for
transport of our personnel. One will transport to and from the
Gilcrease Museum, the other to and from Air and Space Museum.
These are rather short runs and each bus will act in shuttle fashion
and make several runs allowing you flex time at location. I am
collecting only to cover bus rental. The museum may list an
admittance but will acknowledge us on a gratuity basis. The full
afternoon tour to the Will Rogers Museum and home area is a fully
paid excursion with a guide and all fees included in the $30 figure.
Some have asked and others will be interested in sources of
hospitality supplies. Albertson's is at 15th and Lewis, two miles
east and one mile south; Walmart is at 44th and Peoria, one mile
east and three and a half miles south; Sam's will be found at 43rd
and Sheridan, five miles east and three and a half miles south;
Faddler's is across the street from Sam's; no card is required
there. Time permitting I may try to provide driving maps. The
Crown Plaza is downtown, several streets are one way as is 2nd
Street which is eastbound only. This is your view as you arrive
either by hotel bus or by auto.
TUUA
This is the front entrance of the Crowne Plaza in Tulsa where
the Hellcats will gather for the annual reunion this fall.
