Gus Bogel had two children, a sonTom, born March 19,
1919, and a daughter, Margaret, born November 26, 1917, by
his marriage to Miss Maude Murphy the twenty-eight of December,
1916.
The life of Annie Maude Murphy Bogel, born on Febuary 9,
1887, in 7an Franaico, California.
grandmother, Mary Sewell,of Bathe, Maine, married Captain
Jim Murphy also of Bathe, Maine. They owned a beautiful
home which sat on the top of a large hill.
- visited there when - was nine years of .age and - remember
picking dandalion leaves, whichmw boiled like spinach
and served with vinegar and sugar. We always went wading in
a little brook by the house. It was a beautiful Old home O-We
had so much fun. It had a huge square chimney which was in
the center of the house and had eight fire places in it, four
on the down stairs rooms and four on the bedrooms, upstairs.
Up in the attic were lots of old antiques, a trundle bed, a real
old spinning wheel and a large weaving loom on which they wove
their cloth.
Captain Murphy was a sea captain and sailed a three master
schooner. He mostly'visited France and England. Capt. and Mrs.
Murphy had five sons, Charl'qJim, Abed, Frank and Will, and
