Next week, on Thursday night,
the Atlanta High School Band will
present their annual spring con-
cert at the high school auditorium
at 7:45. This is the outstanding
musical event of the year for citi-
zens of Atlanta and the surroui^l
ing communities. 81 students of
the Atlanta school band classes
will play in the concert band, di-
rected by Thomas Lavin. Numbers
will be varied in nature so as to
please the musical taste of every
listener.
It was announced this week tliat
the Atlanta Band had been select
ed as the Official Texas Band for
the Memphis Cotton Carnival this
year. This week long celebration,
held each year in Memphis, Tenn.

The Atlanta Lions met Wednes-
day with a good attendance. The
club voted to sponsor the bicycle
safety campaign, putting Scotch-
lites on all bicycles. Further an-
