A TWo-LiKHiiCli Wo iiiiia'i a two-
barreled gun was found by a negro
boy on Sunday under a building in
rear of Mr. Kiihu's bakery. A man
noticing the negro's discovery walked
up tohiui and demanded the gun say
ing that he would publish a notice of
lis having been found 111 one of the

Two men on Sunday morning about
live o'clock broke into tho storago
room of Major K. V. Thonipklns on
Flm street and had .ollected tho re-
moval of a trunk and a box w hen they
rudely aroused young Mr. Adair who
was sleeping in tho room above from
dreams of his lady-love and that
knightly gentleman instantly hurried
down stairs to shield tho property of
the house from spoliating bauds. The
rascals decamped however before A.
arrived abandoning their booty.

A l'KW years ago there was no other
way known to obtain tlio virtues of
the loaves of various plants but by
maceration in water to make as it i's
called an infusion or by using alcohol
and thus makiiigatiucture. In either
case ono had to drink an Indefinite
amount of liquid to obtain a very small
quantity of the medicinal ollects of tho
plants. How altered is this however.
The process of extracting all tho valua-
ble properties with none of tho inert
or injurious properties from loaves
roots barks etc. has been brought to
such perfection that every ounce of
extract is fully equal to an ounce of the
raw material. In no preparation that
we know of is this high concentration
so admirably accomplished ns in Wil-
liam B. Parker's Compound Fluid Ex-
tract Buoliu.- Mo heat Is used there-
fore all tho finer and volatile princi-
ple are fully preserved tho whole pre-
pared in vacuo In the most careful
manner; a product of raro excellence is
obtained. Sold by all druggists every-
where. :
The Election. t
Tho election for district Attorney
passed off in this city yesterday with
something more than the ordinary feol-
liigandflrcupon such occasions and al-
though there were no direct collisions
the choler of tho friends of each of the
candidates gave a glow and enthusiasm
to tho balloting out of the habitual
groove of such tourneys in this city.
