Herculaneum Nov- 25- 1818
Dear Husband —
I received this day your letter dated the xO;

of No', which *ford'a me the greatest pleasure, to hear
that you had arrived so far in health, and Cod grant you
may continue so, untill you can return once more to the
bosome of your anxious Family — I am still at Bates
Father says ho will shortly have a room ready for me; I
should of taken your advice of returning to Hazel Run, if
I had not been afraid of creating a knew flame to the many
things, that are now aflote; so I have concluded to stay
at Herculaneum untill your return, which I hope will be as
early in the Spring as possible -
I am fearfull that it will be impossible for your boat
to start as soo^as I wish, and you expected, for the
Flower, and Butter, will have to be sold to satisfye
those men, that have demands against you, or they threaten
to attach the whole carno — theirfore as some of the Flower
that is now on hand, is in danger of spoiling; Brickey

has concluded to take up(in your boat) to S- Louis, as
much Flower as will satisfy *11 demands; prohaps My Dear
this arrangement will not meet your approbation, but no-
thing else can be done, and I know that it is your wish
that every one should be pay'd; and their can be no col-
lections made. Ah! if you had taken the advice of your
wife, and shown less indulgence, you would not been put
to all this difficulty; Cod grant that you may be success-
