NORTH ZULCH
o
Rev. Brown filled his regular ap-
pointment at the Methodist church
Sunday and Sunday night.
George Wallace, assistant cashier
of the Guarantee Bond State Bank,
spent Sunday with his folks at Madi-
sonville.
Albert and L. A. Lipscomb oflttan-
tersville, came up to North Zulch last
Saturday night.
M. E. Andrews, wife and baby, of
Mexia, who have been visiting rela-
tives here and in Bryan, returned to
their home Sunday.
Ellis McGauley and family of Abi-
lene, were called home on account of
the illness of Ellis' mother, Mrs. T.
J. Heflin; while here the baby was
taken sick and was immediately car-
ried to Houston for treatment. They
have returned home now, where El-
lis is attending Abilene Christian Col-
lege.
Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Burney went to
Madisonville to see the play, "Three
Wise Fools" Thursday night, and re-
port that it was simply wonderful.
Wiley Lefeare and family who have
been living here on account of pur
good school, have moved back to his
farm. We regret very much to lose
these good citizens.
Mr. John Shannon of Dobbin is vis-
iting his son, W. E. Shannon, of this
place.
The epidemic of measles which has
spread so rapidly over the state had
missed this place until a few days
ago. There have been several cases
already, which will call for more.
W. M. Stewart and John -Swanwick
went to Madisonville Friday night to
the Chamber of Commerce meeting
and banquet.
There has been a medicine show in
town all this week. Admission to the
show was small, but they took away
several hundred dollars thru the sale
of their medicine. We wonder if
some one could come along and get
folks to build new homes and a model
church as easily as these people con-
vinced our population that they need-
ed medicine. We have enough medi-
cine in our house now to keep some
member of the family on the sick list
for several weeks. However, the
show was a nice clean one, and af-
ter all yon didn't have to buy their
medicine unless yon jranted to.
