Note

  • Display Note: Additional historical context: The Sowell's Bluff bridge was built over the Red River in 1927 by the Austin Bridge Company. It operated with tolls until 1932, when it became toll-free. It collapsed on January 29, 1934, and was rebuilt in 1939. The rebuilt bridge was demolished and replaced with a truss bridge sometime later. The truss bridge was demolished in 2021 and replaced with a concrete bridge.
