top artists of the world. Janis
and Graftmin have also ach-
ieved high recognition. Walter
Cassel is now a regular per-
former at the Metropolitan Op-
era. Many artists presented
here had already achieved
greatness, but among those for
whom we predict uture great-
ness are Ivan Davis and Lee
Luvisi.
Many students in Graham
have been members of the As-
sociation during their entire
school life. Some of them are
now old enough to be on the
workers list this year.

year made special contri-

see each of you personally to
solicit your support. Since this
legislative district is such a
large one, however, I am afraid
that I may not be able to see
all of you. Therefore, this is
an humble invitation to vote for
Tony Fenoglio of Montague
County as your next state repre-
sentative on election day, May
7.
In asking you for your sup-
port, I think it is only fair
that I explain to you the plat-
form on which I am running.
If you would like to help me
accomplish the following pro-
gram, then I ask you to join
my effort:
1) Support of Education—I
wholeheartedly support our
state's efforts to Increase the
education level df our citizens,
and I think this should be on
of the highest items In' our
legislative, agenda. Both our
public school children and our
college students must be given
maximum support from their
citizens. Schools in this dis-
trict, both rural and urban,
should be supported so that they
will be equal to or greater
than schools of national level. I
further reeqmmend that ser-
ious 'study be given to see if
the need does not exist for
establishing junior colleges in
our district.
2) Expansion of Industry--
Texas is fast changing from a
rural society to an urban so-
ciety. The 86th Legislative dis-
trict is doing likewise. II I
am elected you r state repre-
sentative, I shall work to ob-
tain more industry for our towns
and shall expend my energy in
behalf of business. I shall work
with the chambers of commerce
to help to secure a more favor-
able business climate both tax-
wise and labor-wise.
8) Improvement of Agricul-
ture--Although Texas is chang-
ing its image from an agri-
cultural state to an industrial
state, it is still a basic fact
that no nation can maintain Its
status of prosperity and power
if it cannot feed its people. The
86th Legislative district is still
a rural district, and its farmers
need support from its elective
state representative. If I am
elected your representative, I
shall support legislation which
will help our farmers obtain
better rural roads so that they
may market their products. I
shall support the Texas Exten-
sion Service so that more and
better research can be expand-
ed in behalf of our farmers.
4) Conservation of our Soil
and Water Kesources--Texas
is blessed with some of. the
,—best land in the nation. We
musty see that this land is pro-
m perly-takn care of, not only
Vor oursel vas, but for future
generations. There is ample
water in Texas today if we
know how to conserve it. We
must make a greater effort at
saving it to fuff ill the great-
er demands of industry, agri-
culture, and domestic users.
5) Improvement of our High-
ways and Roads--Each year
government statistics tell a sad
story concerning more lives
