This sure would be going the
long way around to get this I
world organized, but not as long
as the route we've been going
since the dawn of history.
There's got to be some planet
out there willing to shoot at us.
Making its inhabitants mad at
us will be easy. We’ll bmbard
em with guitar music.
Yours faithfully,

Pray one for another—
(James 5:16)
If there is someone'we wish
to see made whole and perfect,
in need of prosperity, success
or happiness? Is there some-
one we wish to see exercise
wisdom and good judgment in
conducting his affairs? What
ever need another person may
have, we pray for him. We
pray knowing that God is pres-
ent and works unceasingly in
and through the one for whom
we pray. '

Shawnee School
Room 4 in Shawnee finished
a reader, “Away We Go To
Mexico," Thursday, and had
Mexico day in their room. Each
! child wore anything they had to
make them look like a Senor
or Senorita, and brought other
articles from Mexico to show.
When school was out they bid
each other adios and went home
to take a siesta.

Editor’s note: The SaltCreek
Philosopher on his Johnson
grass farm on Salt Creek sounds
about half-way serious this
week, but you never can tell.
Dear editor:
As I understand it from what
I read in a newspaper which an
insurance’salesman was using
for an umbrella to get from his
car to my house during a shower
and left after he discovered
• there wasn’t much ofaprospect
around here, the Russians have
hit Venus with a satellite and
while something went wrong
with the brakes and it smashed
instead of settling gently, it
proves it can be done and they'll
try again.
I got to thinking some more
about the general space race,
how it's,more than likely that
we’ll put a man on the moon
in a few years and after he
lands and looks around at the
lonesome rock pile, getting back
to the interesting green earth
is going to be his main ambit-
ion, how exploring one planet
after another may get a little
dull and monotonous; for ex-
ample can you get very excited
over a headline: “Astronauts
Land Successfully On One Of
The Pleiades’’" Be like getting
excited over who got elected
Justice of the Peace in some
precinct in Utah.
Then I got to thinking some

more, and I have decided we’ve
got to keep exploring; after the
moon and Venus try Mercury,
Jupiter, Neptune, etc., and then
try those further out we haven’t
even named yet.
What we’ve got to do is find
some planet out there inhabited
by intelligent creatures. Then
we’ve got to make them mad
at us. It’s the key to world
peace.
It’s this way: right now more
than half the world’s thought
and money and energy is taken
up with war and defense against
future war, and one country
can’t stop as long as the others
don’t. At least, the U.S. isn’t,
I hope, .
