He is impressed with the
quality of construction the
homes have, pointing out
that minimum standards
now require 2X4 s in walls
Clegg has already had to
move his homes to a new
location because he needs
more space for his growing
inventory He does not have
any double-wides or display
homes yet. but they can easi-
ly be brought from Victoria,
he said
He carries quality name

with day and night," he said
Describing his new
busmess, he says, "this is
relaxing ”
He was encouraged to
enter company, whose home
office is in Victoria, by his
son who is his partner in the
company. "He has always
wanted a Port Lavaca outlet,
and this worked right in with
my retirement," Clegg said
The Clegg family has been
a part of Calhoun County’s
growth for many years,
some operating a hotel here
in the 1800’s.
Clegg serves as the County
Veteran Service Officer and
is past district commander
of the VFW
base in Victoria, we can
move any size home." Clegg
said, adding, "We also have
the most complete service
department in south Texas ”
Clegg stressed that the
moving part of the business
is fully licensed by the Texas
Railroad Commission, so
rates are regulated "We
saved one customer almost
$300 on a move,” Clegg said
and explained how the
customer had gone to an
unlicensed carrier and was
almost "hijacked by unfair
rates."
