HUTTO WRITES BOOK
Texas author, Nelson Hutto, a grad-
uate and former faculty member at
Hardin-Simmons, has written another
exciting novel for sport fans, VICTORY
VOLLEY, to be published April 27th.
VICTORY VOLLEY is a fast-paced
story about a high school senior's ef-
forts to win a state tennis tournament
against unexpected competition from
a rich, professionally - coached new
student.
We take pleasure in sending you a
copy of VICTORY VOLLEY and we
hope you will let your readers know
about it. A release about the book is
enclosed.
Sincerely yours,
Joan Robbins, Publicity

WORD FROM JAPAN
We are very grateful for you and
the work you are doing and especially
for the recent publicity on Secretary of
State Dean Rusk's message. There was
a good article here in The Stars and
Stripes.
Billy still plans on coming to Har-
din-Simmons ... in going through some
photographs I stumbled on to one I
thought might be of real interest in
some kind of a publication somewhere
down the line. I am not sure that you
would want to use any names in con-
nection with it, but it did look a little
interesting. Actually the little fellow
with the Hardin-Simmons uniform on
is Bill and of course the girl is Shirley.
This picture was taken in Hokkaido,
Japan a good many years ago, of course.
Just thought I would pass it on to you.
Gratefully yours,
Dub Jackson

LOVE FOR SCHOOL
"I was a '25 graduate, B.A. Degree,
a Magna Cum Laude student. I loved
it at H-SU very much. Dr. Richardson
was my history professor and history
was my major. L. Q. Campbell was
my English teacher, English was my
minor. They were both great. I'm say-
ing all this in praise of my alma mater.
In fact, Simmons is the same age as I
am; 1891 and it is a great school! I
love every acre and building on it-
and want it to stay a great school
always. Send me a notice with envelope
next spring and I'll probably be send-
ing a check again. My, how I loved
that school!
Thanks,
Miss Edna Baker,

As I have written to Dr. Skiles and
explained to him a problem that exists
to make it unwise for me to leave even
for a few days.

I am enclosing a check, this will have
to take my place April 17. Thank you
for the kind invitation and copy of the
program.
With best wishes for a wonderful day,
I shall be thinking with appreciation
as the program is carried to a close. I
am,
