kansas and E.paao, Texas, at a salary

—Call and sec N. A. Matthews be-
fore bnying anything in the lumber
liue at his old stand Wills Point.
—This editor was the happy recipi-
ent of many kind words from the citi-
sens, of Wills Point, when there last
Saturday.
—Notice the law capd of P. W.
Crow in this issue. The Judge has
located at Msneola, and if you get in-
to trouble, it would piy you to con-
sult the Judge nbout the matter.
—I)r. C. C. Chappell has located at
Wills Point. It's a good location,
and the doctor being a young man of
good ability, and we hop* in a short
time will be doing an abundance of
practice.
—Last Wednesday morning Mr.
G. W. Tull and lady and two others
of the family and Mr. J. J. Utts and
lady left for the Exposition st New
Orleans. We wish them a pleasant
and profitable voyage.
—You need not “wait till the cloud*
roll by and the storms cease" but call
on N. A. Matthews, Wills Point, and
he will fit you up In anything in the
lumber business.
When vou want Poors, Sash, rail-
ings, orauything el«e kept in a genu-
ine 1st class I,umber yard it would
save vou money to call on Mr. N. A.
Matthews, Wills Point, Texas.
Mr II. K. Goodnight has the com-
pleteststrck of Drug'snd all kinds of
patent medicines ever seen in Will
Point at onetime.
—The fishing soaso.i will soon be

about townjwill make thecrcek banks
alcek by truvoling over them.
—V. T. McChcsney lias moved from
theG. W.Tull building to the Mrs.
Blackwell dwelling, on Buflulo

—Prof. Titos. Foster's sch-'ol closed
on the <Bn. lie slings the ax and
grubbing hoc, manfully.
—Scarcely of money in the coun-

ton and Wills Point puhli,. road.

city is quite sick with pneumonia.
His physician Pr, Johnson informs us
that he is some hotter.
—Who is X. A. Matthews? Well
don’t vou know who he is: He is the
leading lumber man, of Wills Point.
Everybody buys their lumber from
liitn.
—Seed oats are selling in this mar-
ket at from 40 to fit! cents a bushel.
Farmers should sow enough at least
for home use.
—Walter M. Pavis and other*, con-
template visiting the exposition, at
N. O., at an early day.
—Yourattention is called to the
card of Williams A Stuart on this
page. They desire that the people of
Edom and surroundingcountry should
know what they are doing, and think
this the proper way to do it.
__Wo would thank our friends and
citizens if they would in fort* ua in
some way when they have friend* vis-
iting them or when they contemplate
taking trips, as we desire making the
Telephone a complete mirror of local
matters.
—It won’t be long until the average
old cow, who has spent a monotonous
winter in plundering the farmers wag-
ons nbout town, will, assisted by^the
heel fly, return to her first love, the
beautiful green forest, where the grass
will bo green and luxurant.
—Another one, Tom Hubbard
comes to the front this weeic with a
troc that made railes enough to fence
fi acres of land; out of one lintb of
which ho caught 103 fox squirrels;
another of the same tree contained 40
gallons of honey, and still another,
contained a barrel of fresh applo vin-
egar with the hall a nee the main trunk
of the tree and nil the other limbs to
hear from. We will give tho addi-
tional returns as fast as they come *n.
—Did ye editor ever have a trump
printer offer to pond his suspenders
for the redemption of 25 ceni>* to pay
for his dinner.
Johnnie is well worthy the positson
and his many friends here are highly
pleased to learn of his appointment,
and now that he is in the line of pro-
motion, we feel confident he will
reach the top round of the ladder, as
he never plays second fiddler to any-
one in any profession, occupation,
trade or calling.
Died.
Miss Marietta Rohrer, daughter of
8 8. and Julia Ann Rohrer, of Wal-
ton, died on the 6th day of February,
1335. Mist Marietta was 20 years of
age, and was a bright and promising
young lady, lto comforted stricken
ones, your children are safe and are
watching and waiting for you, at the
end of your pilgirmage. The grief
stricken parents have the full sympa-
thy of the entire community in their
sorrow.
—We heard a complaint lest week
of one of the hoarding houses in the
City of transient men leaving the
town without paying their board bills
In one instance the parties who have
been thus defrauded are widow ladies
who cannot afford to loose their earn-
ings. One was a drummer, selling
patent medicine, whose name wc fail-
ed to learn, Iftheiiamosandoccupa-
tion of those professional frauds and
dead-beats were furnished tis we would
take pleasure in giving them to the
world, and thus prevent a repetiuR
of the swindle in another town^^T
man who is able and willing to work
can always make enough money to
pay his hoard, and if he robs or at-
tempts to roh hit landlord or landlady
outofit, ho should he published
And the world should know whom
the scoundalsary.
—Yon are well aware that the Tex-
nn-Telephone is a cheap and newsy
paper. The hoys and girls wants n
chance at a funny story now and then
or to rub up their wits with a sharp-
pointed enigma, or to write a letter
desiibing (he county they live in and
be ticketed half Id i.Valh by seeing it
put in print in a real newspaper. And
want something all '‘their very i w.t’’
