Transit System Plan: New Directions for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (Report)
Report that reevaluates the original Service Plan published in 1983 due to the 1988 defeat of the DART bond referendum. DART embarked on a "New Direction" program, which focused on community feedback and immediate actions responding to a realistic view of the future development of the Metroplex. It covers the background, the transit system plan, benefits of the plan, implementation of the plan, and the vision of the future.
Final Service Plan and Supporting Documentation (Report)
Report describing DART's goals for establishing a functional regional transit system in Dallas and surrounding cities. It details the steps taken by the Board Members and staff to produce the Final Service Plan. The plan encompasses bus, rail, and other mobility projects that will be constructed or provided in phases over the course of 26 years. It includes maps showing initial plans for the bus and rail systems.
