Daring Daylight Kidnapping
Attempt Foiled By Mis. Trapp
This is a recent photograph of
Miss Overby. Notice the pleasant
expression upon her face and her
youthful features. Clip the pic-
ture and save it for about two
years. Then compare it to a pic-
tun' taken at that time. If after
living with ex-convict Frix for
such a long period of time hei
features haven't become those of
n criminal or of an ins-ano person
then just wait another two years.
Only time will tell the story.

Mrs. J. W. Trapp regent of

As she was walking from the
library to the fine arts building

coming from the back of the
gymnasium. Turning quickly to in-
vestigate she saw Conch Sheets
Sheets and to leave the college
campus at otue. Frightened Smith
and Ray threw the coach down and
hurried toward Ansclm Fuller's
Fold convertible. The jumped in

was whisked to a hospital whore

Kenneth Pierce Daniel Baker
College student annouccd yester-
day that he had developed a new
type of broom one that would re
V( lutionl.e the entire sweeping in
dustry. It appears to be an ordi
nary broom but there till sinii-
i..iily between a broom and the
new' "swcepclenncr" ends. Inside
the handle is u spring which con-
trols the uction of the head. By
means of a hidden button on I ho
handle the spring may be upent
ed. The spring in some mannei
onuses the straws to move In such
n way that dirt is more easily
umoved fiom the surface that is
being swept. (Don't nk this news-
paper the theory by which the
swcepclenncr opeintes. Only Pierce
and Einstein understand it).
There are two outstanding ad-
vantages of u sweepcleaner. First
of all a person docs not have to
exert much energy in sweeping
while using one. Since the spring
causes the broom straw to move
very rapidly the only thing the
operator must do is to move the
pparatus along the surface to be
cleaned prsing the little button
on the handle.
In the second place the sweep-
cleaner is almost as cheap us an
ordinary broom. No expensive
materials go into its construction.
Pii'ieo told us that It could he
manufactured to retail for about
91.25.
Pierce has a patent on the new
invention and hopes to start the
pioduclion of sweepclcaners soiik
limc in April.
It is expected that all broom
manufacturers will go out of busi-
ness shortly after Pierce's Indus-
tt y is well established and the
people of the United States realize
the value of the new mechanical
device. Pierce is already makinc
plans for constructing a nimble
mansion to bo built with the fund
derived from his profit on tin
manufai'tuio of aweepeleaners.

said today. Under the new sys-
tem the student can remain in
bed while receiving his classroom
lectures. The instructor can be
both seen and heard by the stu-
dent by means of a special radio-
television combination installed at
the bedside. The set can be op-
t rated two ways; not only can the
student listen to and see his in-
siructor but also the instructor
can listen to any question the stu-

Dean Mendenhall says that it
will increase the eniollment of

"It will aid the student the tench-

Thou who when fears attack
Bids them nvaunt and Black
Care at the boiseninn's back
Perching unseatest;
Sweet when the morn Is jrray;
Sweet when they've cleared away
Lunch; and at close of day
Possibly sweetest:
I have a liking old
For thee though manifold
Stories I know are told
Not to thy credit;
How one (or two at most)
Drops make n cat a ghost
Useless except to roast-
Doctors have said it;
How they who use fusees
All glow by slow degrees
Hrainlcss as chimpanzees
Meagie as lizards;
Cio mad and beat their wives;
Plunge (after shocking lives)
Kaznts and caning knives
Into their gizzards.
Confound such knavish tricks!
Yet know I five or nix
Smokers who freely mix
Still with their neighbors;
Jones (who I'm glad to say
Daily absorbs a clay
After his labours.
Cats may have hud their gooso
Cooked by tobacco-juice;
Still why deny its use
Thoughtfully taken?
We'ie not as tabbies arc:

Here's to thee Jlacon!
