the Oak CliffSenator
Yarborough takes his fight
bill to Dallas in. a speech before
Lions Club.
The senator seeks
support for what he calls a "cold war" G-I Bill
which would extend to servicemen the educational
benefits given World War II and Korean War
veterans. He says such a bill would be of great
aid in producing the scientists and engineers
needed to overtake Russian advances. He says the
states would administer federal funds with no
strings attached. He says the bill would pay for
itself in providing higher earning power to
better-educated citizens; thus, more tax money.
