Notes

In regards to the historical event of Zane Grey and the Great Tahitian Marlin which inspired the painting by Melbourne Brindle in this item, it is worth noting the connection between the Tahitian Marlin caught by Zane Grey in the "Tales of Tahitian Waters" to the novella "The Old man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway written in 1951. Hemingway would have been in his 30's and himself an avid angler when "Tales of Tahitian Waters" was published by Harper Brothers in 1931, and The Old Man and the Sea was written in 1951, exactly 20 years later.
