Transcript of script: "(PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA)-- ABOUT 100 SOVIET-BLOC TRAWLERS ARE OPERATING OFF THE VIRGINIA COAST, SOME LESS THAT 20-MILES OFF-SHORE. A COAST GUARD OFFICIAL DESCRIBED THE FLEET'S APPEARANCE AS MORE ECONOMIC THAT MILITARY. MOST OF THE FLEET IS OPERATING AMID SCHOOLS OF COD AND SEA BASS OFF THE ENTRANCE TO HAMPTON ROADS. THE FIRST SHIPS APPEARED THURSDAY WITH THE REST ARRIVING DURING THE WEEKEND. (NEW YORK)-- THE WORST STORM IN TWO YEARS HAS PARALYZED THE NORTHEAST. HEAVY WINDS AND SNOW UP TO 16 INCHES HAVE HALTED MOST TRANSPORTATION IN THE AREA. THE STORM CENTER IS REPORTED NOW IN THE ATLANTIC OFF MASSACHUSETTS AND BETTER WEATHER ISS EXPECTED IN ITS WAKE. (NEW YORK)-- AN AMERICAN AIRLINES JET TAXIED OUT TO THE RUNWAY AT KENNEDY AIRPORT YESTERDAY IN HOPES THAT THE SNOW STORM WOULD LET UP. THE CAPTAIN WAITED PATIENTLY FOR SEVERAL HOURS BUT THINGS GOT WORSE. WHEN THE PILOT DECIDED TO RETURN TO THE HANGER HE FOUND THAT THE JET WAS SNOW-BOUND. IT TOOK THE AIRPORT FIVE MORE HOURS TO GET A BUS OUT TO THE PLANE. -- DASH -- (ABOVE SUMMARY PREPARED BY JIM PURVIS)"
