Description: Photocopy of an oral history with Emmett Robert Shelton Sr. detailing the land development of Austin and the life and times of the Brackenridge family. Shelton goes into how Austin was developed as well as various laws that were passed during this time. He describes how classes were held in two rooms known as the "big room" and "little room" and goes on to talk about the different meals that were served each day. The interview also consists of details about how recess was held, PTA events, and fundraisers that occurred during this time.

[Typed Interview with Mary Ellen Mowinkle]

Description: Typed interview from Mary Ellen Mowinckle (later Johnson) talking about her time as a teacher at Eanes Rock Schoolhouse. Mowinckle recalls how she acquired the position and the times she spent teaching and disciplining her students, as well as the time that a case of Measles broke out and only two students were able to come to class.
