Sherwin J. Carlquist Collection
Sherwin J. Carlquist was a mid-20th century American botanist and photographer well known for his contributions to the fields of island biology and wood anatomy. This collection consists of slides, photographs, negatives, and field notebooks created by Carlquist to document his field expeditions, observations, and specimen collections covering over 20 countries and five decades.
Note: Some Carlquist collection materials are linked to his voucher specimens housed at California Botanic Garden's Herbarium (herbarium code: RSA).
