Description

Photograph of a large group of people. This portrait is of a large group of men, women and children standing in front of a building that says City Hall & Municipal Auditorium. There is a flagpole in front of the building near the street and flags draped on the front of the building. There are two flags on the front of the building that say Texas Centennial 1836 1936. The women in the group are all wearing dresses, most of them are wearing hats, one woman has a fan, one woman has a flower corsage, and many of the women are carrying handbags. There are two young girls to the left of the crowd that are both wearing dresses. The men in the portrait appear to all be wearing button-down shirts and slacks and most of them are wearing ties or bow ties and hats. Four men are wearing vests, one man has a cane, and one man appears to have a crutch. Many of the men have mustaches, beards or are wearing glasses. There are two automobiles in the picture, one on the far left of the photograph and the other on the far right. There is a man leaning against the car on the far right and looking at the group of people in front of the building. Three women on the left end of the group are looking down and turned sideways, four men and two women are on the far right and turned slightly to the left, watching the group of people, and the crowd of people in front of the building all appear to be looking directly at the camera.
