Enga Almeida is vice president
for enrollment at SWAU
AMBER ELLIS
Special to the Keene Star
Enga Almeida is the new
vice president for enrollment
at Southwestern Adventist
University.
“Enga Almeida is a brilliant
manager of the recruitment
process,” university president
Eric Anderson said. “She will
be creating a new strategy to
reach potential students.”
Almeida’s experience in ad-
ministration and recruitment
includes service at Columbia
Union College (now Wash-
ington Adventist University,
Washington, D.C.), and Union
College in Lincoln, Neb. She worked in WAU’s recruitment
department for 11 years as associate director of recruitment
and associate director of admissions. At WUC, she was re-
sponsible for the telemarketing program, budget, student em-
ployees and recruiting trips.
“I am very happy about joining Southwestern Adventist
University,” Almeida said. “Each day that I am here I find an-
other reason that makes coming here the right decision for
me.”
Almeida was directly responsible for recruiting 39 percent
of the 2008 freshman class at CUC. She also was responsible
for working with admissions and financial aid to develop a
sequential communication plan, using various media formats
for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
She joined Union College in 2009, where she served as di-
rector of admissions and recruitment. She had an important
role in raising Union’s freshman enrollment by 50 percent.
Almeida has two sons, Gregory and Jeffrey, who live in
Maryland. She loves to travel and explore the back roads of
America, “to hunt out that perfect antique. Life would be just
about perfect if there were a candy-apple red 1955 Chevy Be-
lair in my garage,” she said.
