This means the Bellaire stu-

A recent ruling placed all Bell-

school newcomers in this city in

What began last year as an
extra half day for one truck
to pick up grass cuttings, tree
limbs, and bulky junk too big
for garbage pails, now requires
four trucks and a crew of 1(»
men working a full day.
Even so the past Wednesday
a lot of the streets were skip-
ped by the crewmen who work-
ed until night fall.
A greater part of this prob-
lem could be solved by local cit-
izens if they will put the loose
grass cuttings and the trash in
boxes, bushel baskets or any
other kind of containers. If the
men can maintain the same
speed they do on the four gar-
bage pick-up days—one garbage
can a minute—they will be able
to cover all streets on Wednes-
days.

Hope Withers
Hope that the Transit Co. Off©fS N©W
would run a shuttle line through j - m
adjoining streets of Bellaire with- T©CliniCC!l Studl©S
ered when a company official said
only extra buses will be put on if
students overcrowd the regular
buses. Gone also is the hope that
special buses will be designated
for students and for business
people at the morning peak hour.
Any changes between now and
September 7 are in the hands of
parents and the Transit Company.
